Renston Homestead - An Agricultural Experience

Come join us for a truly educational experience at a working farm. It is our objective at Renston Homestead to teach students both, about the history of farming and modern day farming practices.

Historic Farm Tour - Activities include visiting historical farm buildings such as the smoke house, cooling kitchen and the outdoor icehouse, as well as a close up look at antique farm equipment.

Modern Farm Tour - Activities include learning about commercial vegetable production, growing strawberries, raising beef cattle and haflinger horses, and a visit to the dairy milking parlor.

Other opportunities include a chance to pet and feed farm animals, hay rides around the farm, and pick your own produce.

On your tour, a guide will escort you around the farm explaining the various sites including old farm buildings, friendly farm animals, and crops of the season, complete with a hayride. The tour also includes an educational session, encompassing the historical farm tour, modern farm tour and many other agricultural experiences. Every student will also receive a surprise farm gift at the end of the tour. Teachers will be given lesson plans that not only teach students about agriculture but emphasize math, reading, and science. There is also a picinic area at the farm, so bring a bag lunch and enjoy our easy-going, open air atmosphere. We hope that you will come join us for a fun agricultural education adventure!
